Versatility of CTMH card kits

We headed off a few weekends ago on a crafty retreat weekend - with lots of talented quilters. Now I am definitely not a quilter, so we packed up our stamping gear and joined the fun! One of the issues with these kind of retreats away from home is what to pack! It is guaranteed that the one thing you need to finish that project perfectly is the one thing that you decided to leave at home.

The card making kits available from CTMH are the perfect solution when having to pack your gear for a retreat or a crop away from home.

Now I will be the first to admit that the Lollydoodle range (although having an absolutely fantastic name ;) ) is not my favourite of the CTMH line... But it is available in a card making kit, so the challenge was set.

The kits actually come with instructions to make five each of three different cards, and all the materials needed to do so (including the stamp set!) so great value and no brainwork involved...but where is the fun in that? So I went my own way with the products, and also mixed in some other stamps and bits and bobs as well.

I am not exactly sure how many cards I ended up making as we managed to sell most of them as we went along -and let me tell you I was sick of making owl cards by the end of the weekend (they were by far the most popular). Many of these cards were based (loosely) on cards featured in the latest Australian Simply Cards magazine, which I have since taken out a subscription to!

So don't think that just because some of the designs shown may not be your favourite that you can't get great value and some fabulous cards out of a kit - certainly makes the job of packing for retreat a lot quicker, easier (and takes up a lot less room than if you take the whole craft room)!

Don't forget to sign up for my newsletter (you can do so on the right hand sidebar ----> where I will be sending out lots of fabbo information regarding specials, kits, hints and tips etc etc on all things stamping, scrapbooking and crafting.
